“Why would I call China a currency manipulator when they are working with us on the North Korean problem? We will see what happens!” US President Donald Trump said in a tweet early Sunday, in his first response to a failed missile test by North Korea.

“The president and his military team are aware of North Korea’s most recent unsuccessful missile launch,” US Defense Secretary James Mattis said in a statement. “The president has no further comment.” This reaction helped ease weeks of tension over expectation that Kim Jong-un would conduct a nuclear or ballisic missile test to mak a big national holiday and the ominous US naval build-up opposite North Korea.
