The suspects rounded up by Indonesia’s anti-terror squad in four provinces were accused of plotting attacks on domestic and foreign targets including the US and Australian embassies. They belonged to a new Islamist group, the Sunni Movement for Indonesian Society, or HASMI. Police raids found them in possession of bombs, explosives, a bomb-making manual and ammunition.
