In a Commons statement Friday, Prime Minister David Cameron promised the UK would hunt down the terrorists responsible for the brutal and savage attack in Algeria. He said he was not informed in advance of the Algerian operation but told while it was under way. The terrorists had tried to flee and the Algerians judged there was no threat to the lives of the hostages and felt obliged to respond, said Cameron. The situation is still moving, he added, but hoped it would soon be brought to an end. “This is a large and complex site and they are still pursuing terrorists and possibly hostages too.”
