Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told a cabinet meeting Sunday that Israel was ready to “significantly expand” the Gaza operation after hitting 1,000 terrorist targets in first four days. He praised the wide response of reservists to call-up orders covering 75,000 men and women. Hamas sources in Gaza meanwhile warned reporters Sunday that a ceasefire is to be expected “today or tomorrow” while intensifying missile fire every few minutes, often in clusters, in all directions within range including Tel Aviv. Some are getting past Iron Dome batteries for direct hits. This happened Sunday morning in Ashkelon and Ashdod. The IDF is treating the frequent ceasefire claims from the other side as psychological mind games and confirms that its counter-terror operation in the Gaza Strip carries on uninterrupted along with reserve call-ups and preparations for expanding the offensive by ground action.
