New ministers have a month to produce work plans
At their first cabinet session Tuesday night, the new Israeli ministers were given one month to present their work plans and 135 days to enact the next state budget. The 22 ministers were sworn in early by the Knesset which endorsed the new government guidelines by a vote of 68 to 38. They also picked a security cabinet of 7 (instead of previous 15), members of which are the prime minister, the ministers of defense, public security, finance, justice, economy and trade, and Home Front, as well as a Shin Bet Oversight committee.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called on the four coalition partners to put their differences behind them and get down to working in harmony on the unprecedented challenges facing the country at this time.
