No Israeli air strike or any other attack took place against the Syrian port of Latakia, DEBKAfile’s military sources confirm. Syria’s Russian-made S-300 anti-air missiles were not attacked as claimed by Syrian opposition and Lebanese Palestinian sources Monday. The images they posted purporting to show the Israel air attack on Syrian S-300 missile stored at a location called Sheikh Dahar did not stand up to investigation because the photos were taken somewhere else.  In any case, our sources add that the Syrian army does not posses stocks of S-300 missiles. Neither Israel nor Syria made any comment on the story.
