Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui summoned Daniel Kritenbrink, Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy Friday, to “lodge solemn representations” for US President Barack Obama's meeting with the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama last week. The Foreign Ministry in Beijing issued a statement calling the meeting “grave interference in China’s internal affairs, gravely violating basic norms governing international relations and seriously undermining China-US relations.”  Obama used the meeting to offer "strong support" for Tibetans' human rights.
