Two shooting attacks within 10 hours of each other left two civilians dead and five Danish police officers injured at a meeting on freedom of speech and a synagogue in Copenhagen before and after midnight Saturday, Feb. 14. Early Sunday, police kiled a man at the nearby Norrebro railway station when he opened fire. They seek to establish whether he was one of the shooters and if indeed the two attacks were connected. People were warned Sunday to stay off the streets as armed terrorists were at large.

French intelligence failures over the Charlie Hebdo terror attack will not be gilded over by the Unity March of millions led by President Francois Hollande in Paris Sunday, Jan. 11. The case stands out of Hayat Boumeddiene, wife of the terrorist Amedy Coulibaly who murdered four Jews in cold blood at the kosher supermarket. Friday, Jan. 9, French security said she had fled the store with the rescued hostages and reached Syria that night. In truth, she was never there at all, but had skipped from France to Syria a week earlier.

Four hostages held by Islamist gunmen at a Jewish grocery store in Paris were reported dead Friday, Jan. 9 by French police, shortly after a rescue operation that killed the gunman, Amedy Coulibaly, who earlier shot dead a policewoman. Other captives were set free. Minutes before, Said and Cherif Kouachi died in a shooting attack on the police siege force at a factory near Dammartin-en-Goelle, 40 km northeast of Paris. The two Charlie Hebdo killers were holed up there threatening to “die as martyrs” with their hostage before going on the offensive.

A female police officer, one of two shot in the second terror attack in Paris, Thursday, Jan. 8, has died after being shot in the back in the Malakoff district, the third officer killed in two days. One shooter was caught; the second escaped. Elite French police unit are preparing for an operation. Also at large are the two Islamist brothers, Said and Cherif Kouachi, who murdered 12 people at the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris Wednesday. There are unconfirmed reports that they have been located in northern France.

Incriminating evidence links Mehdi Nemmouche, 29, the jihadi arrested Friday, May 30, at Marseille bus station, to the murders of four people, including the Israeli couple Mira and Emmanuel Riva, at the Jewish Museum in Brussels on May 24. The guns in his luggage were of the same types as the murder weapons. He spent a year in Syria fighting for Islamist militias. His record of constant travel also suggests he served as hired bagman for smuggling weapons among terrorist groups and in other roles as terrorist accomplice.

Just as on April 6 debkafile was the first publication to disclose the supply of US weapons - BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles – to certain Syrian rebel militias, our military sources now reveal the delivery of Russian-made 9K310 Igla-1 aka SA-16 anti-aircraft rockets, whose operational range is 5.2 km. Egyptian and Israeli forces raised alert levels Friday, July 5, after the Muslim Brotherhood declared a revolt against the army for ousting Mohamed Morsi on July 3. A “War Council” established in Sinai formed a coalition with Hamas, Jihad Islami and al-Qaeda-linked Salafists, following which gunmen mounted a multiple attack in northern Sinai. Egyptian Patriot anti-missile batteries and anti-air weapons systems were posted to protect Suez Canal shipping from rocket fire. An Egyptian officer warned the army would forcibly prevent the rise of an “Islamic caliphate” in Sinai.

Hundreds of Palestinians lobbing rocks clashed with Jerusalem police Friday as they marched from Temple Mount, Jerusalem, to Damascus Gate - their first protest against the anti-Muslim film made in the US. Mounted police using stun grenades stopped them reaching the US consulate. Protests erupted too in the Gaza Strip and the Israel Bedouin town of Rahat. Islamists continued to batter the US embassies in Cairo and Sanaa, riot in Bangladesh and Lebanon and also attack the British and German embassies in Khartoum.
