DEBKAfile Special Report March 21, 2016
The widely-reported claim originating in the Turkish media Monday, March 21, that the suicide bomber who murdered four people and injured 39 in Istanbul Saturday had deliberately targeted Israeli tourists is challenged by debkafile’s intelligence sources. They classify those reports as "Turkish disinformation" meant to demonstrate that their MIT intelligence service was on top of the wave of terror sweeping their country.
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis August 2, 2015
Israeli leaders and media indulged in knee-jerk responses - ‘We’re all to blame” and “”We all ignited the flames” - to two separate, individual Jewish hate crimes, repulsive though they were. Israelis universally condemned the crimes, but that should have been a far cry from collective self-flagellation and loud laments that “The whole house is on fire.” The whole house is not on fire and we are not all guilty, although this was the message President Reuven Rivlin offered the nation Saturday night, July 1, in an outpouring of raw emotion instead of constructive remedies.
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis June 27, 2015
The US said Friday, June 26, there was no indication “on the tactical level” that “the attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait and France were coordinated.” debkafile: That conventional measure of Islamist operations no longer applies. ISIS has introduced its own "lone wolf" methods of operation which are hard to detect and predict They resulted Friday in 211 deaths on three continents. Some ISIS operatives are radical Muslims who "cooperate” with local authorities after secretly swearing allegiance to the group; others are Westerners returned home from the Syrian or Iraqi battlefields primed for jihad.

Friday, June 26, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) demonstrated the broad scope of its brutal reach by perpetrating terrorist attacks on three continents – Europe, Africa and Asia, in one day, the second Friday of the Muslim festival of Ramadan. DEBKAfile Special Report May 31, 2015
The US Senate holds a rare Sunday session hours before the Patriot Act expires at midnight May 31. Federal law enforcement authorities warn that non-renewal would deny them valuable surveillance tools for detecting terrorist acts, such as the NSA’s “roving wiretaps” and surveillance of “lone wolf” suspects. debkafile: Data collection in bulk is an unsurpassed method for homing in on a terrorist with no previous record by the device of “roving wiretaps.” Making it selective or subject to gaps would impair this tool and expose America to major terrorist episodes.
DEBKAfile Special Report July 5, 2014
In less than a week, Israel is trapped in a maelstrom of violence arising from the Netanyahu government laxness after the traumatic discovery on July 30 of the bodies of the Israeli teenagers, Gil-Ad Shaer, Naftali Fraenkel and Eyal Yifrach, kidnapped and slain by Hamas. Two days later, a Palestinian boy, Muhammad Abu Khdeir, was found murdered in Jerusalem, sparking Arab riots amid scores of rockets from Gaza. “Quiet will be met with quiet,” was Israel’s feeble message to Hamas as the IDF, a highly competent counter-terror force, stood idly by.

DEBKAfile Special Report June 14, 2014
As the massive IDF-Shin Bet hunt for the three teenage boys feared kidnapped Thursday night, June 12, went into its second day, the shape of a large terrorist organization and a carefully planned, step-by-step abduction emerged, under a central command, most likely set up by Hamas. Its communications with the kidnappers were cut off so as not to betray its own location or the hideout of the captors and boys - two 16-year olds from Yeshivot Etzion and a third boy. Officers who thwarted a spate of recent abduction attempts are actively leading the search.
