debkafile: Bush accuses Iran of threatening the security of the world as No. 1 sponsor of terrorism, but refrains from specifying US action

The US and Arab allies must join together to confront the danger “before it’s too late,” he said in Abu Dhabi, the third stop of his Arab tour.
In a furious tirade, Bush charged Iran with undermining peace by supporting Hizballah in Lebanon, the Palestinian Hamas and Shiite extremists in Iraq, by sending arms to the Taliban, defying the UN, and destabilizing the entire region by refusing to be open about its nuclear program.
The US president went on to say the US is strengthening “our longstanding security commitments with our friends in the Gulf and rallying friends around the world to confront this danger before it is too late.”
Earlier Sunday, Bush visited the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain where he heard the commander Vice Adm. Kevin Cosgriff report on the brush last Sunday between US warships and Revolutionary Guards speedboats in the Strait of Hormuz.
After calling in at Dubai Monday, President Bush will visit Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Kuwait, at his first stop, said the US would not be allowed to use its territory to attack Iran.
He arrived in the Gulf from two days of talks in Israel and the Palestinian Authority, where he announced that his administration would apply pressure to bring about a peace treaty before he leaves office.
