Five Israelis, incl. 4 female police officers injured in car-ramming terror attack in Jerusalem
A Palestinian terrorist at the wheel of a car ploughed into a group of female police officers Friday, Feb. 6, injuring four. They were on duty on northern Jerusalem’s Route One near the headquarters of the Border Guard and National Police. The car first hit a cyclist. When police began closing in, the terrorist jumped out of the car brandishing a meat cleaver to attack bystanders. He was shot and seriously injured by the border guard at the nearby light rail station. After the attack, vandals damaged Jewish tombstones at the ancient Mount of Olives cemetery. Police patrols were beefed up Friday for the Purim festival as sunny weather brought thousands of Israelis, many of them children, out on the streets in traditional costume.
