Friction with Cairo over the Israel air defense system for Ethiopia’s Great Nile dam

Israeli firms have finished installing the advanced Spyder-MR air defense system for the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam upstream of the Nile – in the face of discord with Egypt.

Cairo has strongly resisted the construction of Ethiopia’s mega-dam as a threat to its water security. It is estimated that the new dam when filled will store up to 74 billion cubic meters of water, equal to twice the average annual flow of the Nile at the Sudanese-Egyptian border. Half Egypt’s population lives and subsists on the Nile River basin and its fast-growing numbers already present the country with a massive water deficit. Cairo, which for decades has enjoyed hegemony over its source of life, one of the world’s major rivers, is not appeased by Addis Ababa’s assurances.

Ethiopia has high hopes of the great dam as a major economic boost. Its 15 turbines are planned to double or treble its power industry, create new jobs in and outside farming and export energy to its neighbors.

Our military sources report that Addis chose the Spyder-MR air defense system to shield the Great Renaissance Dam project after watching its performance in the Indian-Pakistani clashes in Kashmir five months ago. It is the only system known to be capable of simultaneously launching two different types of missile – a Python-5 (5km range) and Derby-6 (50km range). Spyder-MR is the product of three Israeli firms, Rafael, which makes the missiles: the MBT Missiles Division of Israel Aerospace Industries – the trucks on which the missiles are mounted; and Elta Systems for the radar.
Work on installing the air defense system which began in May has just been completed.

Our sources also report that frequent calls came from the office of Egyptian President Abdel Fatteh El-Sisi in an effort to dissuade Israel from installing the Spyder-MR on the great Ethiopian dam, but the prime minister’s office in Jerusalem decided to go ahead with it just the same.

I wonder if Ethiopia extracted a promise that the antisemitic squatters will stop murdering REAL Hebrews.

Doubtful. European racism is deeply embedded.

So, the Egyptians would bomb the dam otherwise if it were not protected? Awful and Mean. They can always send in their crack commandos and blow it up.

From the Holy Bible, Isaiah 19 and Ezekiel 29 make it clear that the Nile will stop flowing and the Egyptian economy will completely collapse. Then the Egyptians will leave and not return for 40years. This is almost certainly an end-times prophecy, not an event to occur after Jesus returns. Note that this complete drying-up of the Nile has never occurred in recorded history.

Also note that Zechariah 14 makes it clear that every nation that fights against Jerusalem after the Lord Jesus returns is required to keep the Feast of Tabernacles and then the specific example is given using Egypt. Clearly, the Egyptians will necessarily have returned to Egypt by that time in order to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

What does all this mean? It means that since the Nile has not dried-up yet, we are more than 40years from the Lord establishing his kingdom here on Earth.

There is much to learned from the Book of the Future (the Holy Bible). Don’t be surprised by what I have typed above. There is far more information to be gleaned from the Holy Bible. It is not possible for a human to spend too much time studying the Holy Bible. Peace.

        Here we go again!
Just to inform you: the Rabbi Jesus was executed by Roman authorities………………….2000 years ago.

If “we’ll all” are still alive in at least 45-50 years, then we might get to see the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Holy Bible. It may be even longer. There are other conditions necessary before the whole counsel of God confirms that Jesus is returning. I won’t go into all those here. Jesus himself states in Matthew 24 when the tribulation begins and what happens immediately afterwards – the gathering of the elect. He goes no further with his descriptions of end-time events than the 7th seal. It is not until later, as he personally reveals in the Book of Revelation, that Jesus physically touches down again on the Earth since the time he was taken up into the clouds some 2000 years ago.

Much is revealed in the Holy Bible but few study it carefully enough to understand what is being told. A non-believer will never understand since the Holy Spirit will not open their mind to full understanding. A good place to begin is to fear the Lord for it is the beginning of wisdom. If you fear the Lord, then you should be obeying the Lord. The Lord personally wrote 10 commandments into stone with his finger. Yes, this is written in the Holy Bible. Not a single one of those commandments have been revoked – ever. The Lord gives instruction throughout the Holy Bible that his commandments be kept. The apostle John tells us we demonstrate our love for the Lord by keeping his commandments. Yes, begin here.

Jesus died some 2000 years ago, then 3 days later arose to a new body. It is good that all understand this.

I would like to see Spyder-MR air defense systems installed around Gaza to fire off after each and every terror attack on Israel.

May I remind Egypt that they have done nothing to alleviate the Hamas and other jihadist threats on Israel over the years and have let Gaza be the entire problem of Israel when viable solutions could be implemented by Egypt and then Gaza integrated into and patrolled by Egypt. As always, Arabs are happy when Israel feels pain as they chuckle from UN sidelines.

I think Israel may use that to blackmail egypt. If they got, what they want, they may cancel it. The best way would be to make a peaceful agreement which benifits both countries, so that no war is needed. If egypt could have such intention to bomb the dam, then Ethiopia should find a way to protect it.

Any & all possible wheat districts worldwide are needed after nuclear contamination occurs inportions of thee Middle East & Asia.

NAWAPA in North America must include rebuild of US Bread Basket rail branch lines, and recently abandoned Canadian Wheat Trust rail connectors. DEBKA has opened the door to water as a strategic element in geopolitics. Water -> agriculture -> robust food distribution is the supply chain summary.

We did a Nile cruise last October. We flew to Aswan and went to,Abu Simbel and then took us to see the dam. I was expecting something like Hoover but it basically looks a lot like sand bags and piles of rocks. Lots of soldiers. We’ve also been to Three Gorges in China, now THAT’S impressive. The Ethiopians have a right to water just like other countries. Egypt doesn’t *own* the Nile.
