Iranian electronic warfare facility blown up south of Damascus, second explosion in 4 days

Powerful explosions were reported early Monday, May 21, in the Naijah area south of Damascus. A Syrian military academy situated there serves as an Iranian/HIzballah intelligence war room and an Iranian electronic warfare facility. The explosions were reported by Sky News in Arabic with no official confirmation or indication of what caused them. If confirmed, this would appear to be the second pinpointed attack in four days on an Iranian military target in Syria. On May 18, fuel, arms and ammunition depots at a Syrian air base near Hama were blown up, causing massive explosions. Despite Syrian official denials, a number of Iranian officers were killed in this attack on one of Iran’s most important bases in Syria.  DEBKAfile’s military sources learned later that the attack was carried out by an unnamed ground force, which fired eight missiles at the base.

The enemy of my enemy is my enemy: Israel supplying intel to Anti-Syrian rebels or Islamic jihadists to use against Iran and Assad ?

    • May 21, 2018 @ 9:19 at 9:19

the enemy of my enemy is my FRIEND, goes the Arab saying….

      • May 21, 2018 @ 10:18 at 10:18

        Learn your enemies ways.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend is a western saying.
Don’t for one second think it applies in the arab world.

        The nearest arb equivalent is
Me any my brother vs my cousin, me and my cousin vs the world.

So much of the problems the west has when facing the east is how little in common we really have, the errors of assuming our perceptions and theres are in line leads to a great many of our misunderstandings.

Please explain how “enemy of my enemy is my enemy” makes any sense at all . I’ve neither heard or read this anywhere . If this is an ancient Arabic proverb it evidently hasn’t made its way out of the Middle East yet it but that could be on account that those who incorporate such irrational absurdity into their battle strategy keep getting killed by their enemy’s friends !

Probably Israeli special forces. Locals aren’t great with electronics and 21st century weapons.

      • May 21, 2018 @ 23:42 at 23:42

sure, the arabs really need israel to direct them because after more than 1000 years of sunnis and shiites killing each orher, they don’t know how?

you’re pathetic losers who can’t even take responsibility for your own messes!

  • May 21, 2018 @ 8:31 at 8:31

I think this was an operation by Shayetet 13 with support from the Institute (Mossad)

    • May 21, 2018 @ 9:25 at 9:25

I agree this was too precise, and too tidy for terrorists.

    • May 21, 2018 @ 22:57 at 22:57

Shayetet 13 is a sea commando, and all sites affected were 200-300 km from the sea. Before trying to look well informed try to think what are you talking about

      • May 23, 2018 @ 4:54 at 4:54

Sick burn bro. Too bad the burn unit is full of Iranian aggressors from the latest attack by (insert proxy here). The point is, how doesn’t matter, its the fact that Quds is getting murked with nothing to show for it that shows who is winning.

  • May 21, 2018 @ 9:17 at 9:17

Israel and the US has lost this war to establish The Greater Israel, although these covert ops are good they will stop iranian expansion so that peace in syria will come a step closer, next war will be against Iran from sea air and Afganistan and iraq, but Iran will not be occupied like Iraq or Afgan, its millitary will just be destroyed, no doubt the US and Israeli bases will suffer casualties from iranian missiles.

    • May 21, 2018 @ 13:01 at 13:01

By “greater Israel” do you mean from the Nile to Euphrates, or do you mean Arab-occupied Judea & Samaria?

    • May 21, 2018 @ 13:20 at 13:20

You would make a great comedian, fox. Israel has been roughly the same size ( and that is very small) forever – having had Jordan stripped away by British, Sinai taken away by so- called peace agreement that began a series of more wars and more terrorism. However, Israel does defend itself to prevent its small footprint from becoming any smaller and that is what really bothers you. It is Israel’s existence that pisses you off; Israel could be down to one square kilometer and you would be screaming to take it away as the 56 Islsmic states expand and use immigration as a weapon to Islamicize your western countries.

  • May 21, 2018 @ 9:17 at 9:17

Where is the proof ? ISISrael are liars….they are hitting the Syrian Military….who are fighting ISIS…enough said to be fair

    • May 21, 2018 @ 10:28 at 10:28

Sure. And I see little purple butterflies carrying messages of peace and brotherhood from Iran.

      See them?

    • May 21, 2018 @ 10:40 at 10:40

“….they are hitting the Syrian Military….who are fighting ISIS…enough said to be fair”

      @ “False flag”,

Actually——-no, it’s Iranian military and intelligence gathering sites which are actually being hit———enough said to REALLY be fair!

I think Rusia wants Iran out of Syria.

    • May 21, 2018 @ 23:52 at 23:52

i don’t think russia cares. they want to retain their bases, and they don’t want to get sucked into pointless pissing matches, with anybody. israel has managed to coordinate with the russians and avoid any accidents. and the closer they get to an assad victory, the less the russians (or the syrians) need iran or hezbollah.

assuming that russia would go to bat for them was a tactical mistake on iran’s part, just as turkey mistakenly thought that nato would back them against russia.

all of which bodes well for israel and for peace.

  • May 21, 2018 @ 14:28 at 14:28

Its about time Israel mowed the grass.

He that calls his brother a fool, is himself in danger of hellfire.

  • May 21, 2018 @ 16:13 at 16:13

This and May 18th were professionally executed special forces operations. No ragtag syrian rebel forces are able to do it. Either this is a work of Israel or the US, who only have such capabilities, and now there is a flood of the disinformation to cover the tracks. All these talk about eight missiles is a complete nonsense. If we are not speaking about artillery rocket carrying significant explosive warhead, and requiring a truck or armoured carrier based launcher, neither Javelin nor Spike with small charge not exceeding 9 kg are able to cause massive explosion in the fuel or ammunition depot, however professionally placed multiple charges can. Beyond that Russians using their S-400 are able to see any flying object, missile included, but they keep mum and don’t comment. Technically Israel has a problem to send and retrieve commando team via air, and being unnoticed, so the US special operations forces are most probable executor of the operation.

  • May 21, 2018 @ 17:27 at 17:27

    Oh, not again!
There are easy ways to prevent this, Allah will surely and absolutely annul any danger in and around the military base, by simply doing one of these:
    1. Best way – Completely shield the location against explosions. Bury an ayatollah with all honors right under the commandment building, oriented with the head towards Tehran.
    2. Choose a non-exploding location. The GPS coordinates for a good location, or validation for the candidate location you are planing for, are easily obtainable from this address

Iranian/Hizballah intelligence? that’s an oxymoron, right?

  • May 21, 2018 @ 21:07 at 21:07

It appears that Israel, the USA and Russia all wanted this to happen. The attack seems to be from an entity that was there already. So either the USA or Russia, probably the USA.

the loss of personnel convinced america to get out of vietnam, and the soviets to leave afghanistan. but since the mullahs are willing to fight to the very last “shahid”, the best way to convince them to go home is to destroy as many of their expensive toys as possible.

“War is the continuation of politics.” Trump using exhaustion, a strategy which seeks the gradual erosion of the Iranian nation’s will or means to resist, and attrition which seeks to gradually erode the combat power of its armed forces.

  • May 22, 2018 @ 13:06 at 13:06

Those are the rules. And we make the rules.

Iranian electronic war station? More like play station.

    • May 23, 2018 @ 0:22 at 0:22

Internal dispute. IRGC blew the station when found the operators were tuning to Alawite techno pirate radio.
