Boko Haram claims 50 kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls video

The Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram has released a video purporting to show 50 of the 276 schoolgirls kidnapped in April 2014 from the Nigerian town of Chibok. The video begins with a shot of a masked man, carrying a gun, saying some of the girls have been killed in air strikes or have life-threatening injuries, and 40 have been "married." He demanded the release of “our fighters” otherwise “we will never release the girls.” The girls' capture caused international outrage. The Nigerian government, which has sought help from the US and the UK to try to trace the girls, has been accused of not doing enough.
