Migrants hijack a ship that rescued them and order captain to sail to Italy

A merchant ship, the El Hiblu 1, rescued the migrants from a sinking boat north of Libya and intended to take them back there, according to the Italian interior minister, Matteo Salvini. Instead, the 108 migrants hijacked the ship and forced the captain to sail to Italy. The minister accused them of piracy and vowed not to let the migrants set foot in Italy. Civil rights groups defended the migrants and said they should be given a safe port.

The captain should just have sent a mayday and ask for the coast guard to enter the ship and kill the pirates.
