Knesset approves six provisional committees headed by opposition
The provisional panels are:  the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense committee headed by Kahol Lavan’s Gaby Ashkenazi; the Finance Committee chaired  by Oded Forer (Yisrael Beitenu); the Special Committee for the Coronavirus Crisis – by Ofer Shelah (Kahol Lavan); and the Special Committee for Preparedness in the Education System – Nitzan Horowitz (Labor-Meretz). Two committees were assigned to the Joint Arab List: Labor and Social Welfare and the War on Crime in Arab Society.

The appointments were made by the acting Arrangements Committee chaired by MK Avi Nisenkom (Kahol Lavan) and carried by 61 votes. All members of the right wing-religious bloc walked out in protest. Speaker Yuli Edelstein abstained from voting.
