UK PM Johnson self-isolates with coronavirus symptoms

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55, announced he had developed mild symptoms of coronavirus and would “continue to lead the government’s response” via video conference from Downing Street. Health Minister Matt Hancock also tested positive for the virus. There are more than 11,600 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, and 578 people have died. Heir to the throne Prince Charles, 71, went into quarantine at Balmoral after testing positive this week.

Other world leaders who have self-isolated are Canada’s Justice Trudeau and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, both of whom came into contact with people who contracted coronavirus.
