Health Ministry director predicts 5.5m vaccinations by June
Prof. Hezi Levi, Health Ministry’s director general, expects 5.5. million Israelis, 60pc of the population, to have been vaccinated against coronavirus by June, bringing “herd immunity” into effect. This depends on vaccine supplies and the public response meeting the ministry goal to administer 60,000 inoculations per day.
Rabbis Haim Kanievsky, Gershon Edelstein and Shalom Cohen, three leaders of large ultra-religious communities, Tuesday urged their flocks to apply for covid vaccination: “This is the correct way for all those who are able,” they said in a joint statement.
