US condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi as dangerous
The Saudis intercepted an armed drone on Tuesday morning, hours after the US State Department condemned as “unacceptable and dangerous” the Iran-backed Yemeni Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, saying, “They need to stop attacking and start negotiating.” The Yemeni insurgents, backed and armed by Iran, have launched dozens of drones and ballistic missiles into Saudi Arabia in recent weeks. The Saudis claimed to have intercepted most of them before they caused injury or damage. Among the targets on Sunday were Ras Tanura Aramco oil terminal at one of the world’s biggest oil ports and another depot in Dhahran city, both in the east of the country. The attack on Tuesday targeted Khamis Mushait in the south.
