Hundreds of Jews visit Temple Mount to mark Tisha B’Av

Hundreds of Jews  on Sunday visited Temple Mount – as well as thousands who attended the Western Wall – for the 9th of Av annual day of fast and prayer, in mourning for the historical destruction of the two Jewish Temples. The visit was approved by the government under secure Border Police guard and led by a group of Knesset members including Itamar Ben-Gvir. It took place shortly after Islamic Jihad fired their first rockets towards Jerusalem, triggering alert sirens in nearby locations.
