A new rail line links the northern Israeli town of Carmiel to Haifa

The link from the West Galilee town of Carmiel to Haifa will cut down the time it takes by road. Further development will connect the northern town to Tel Aviv, Beersheba and Ben Gurion international airport. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz rode on the first run of the new line on Tuesday morning. Regular service starts in about two weeks.
