A member of the Saudi Air Force shot dead 3 people on Friday at the US naval base in Pensacola, Florida, before being taken down himself. He was identified as Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani who was at the base for aviation training. The FBI has taken charge of the investigation. Florida Gov Ron DeSaantis told reporters that Saudi Arabia is “going to owe a debt here given that it was one of their individuals. The government of Saudi Arabia needs to make things better for these victims,” he said. President Donald Trump tweeted later: “King Salman of Saudi Arabia just called to express his sincere condolences and give his sympathies to the families and friends” of the victims. He added that the king said “this person in no way shape or form represents the feelings of the Saudi people who love the American people.”
