A Saudi delegation arrives in Turkey for joint Khashoggi probe
A Saudi delegation arrived in Turkey on Friday to take part in a joint working group investigating the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Riyadh initiated the joint investigation when Prince Khaled al-Faisal visited Ankara on Thursday. A Saudi spokesman said that the high rank of this emissary – Prince Khaled is governor of Mecca and special adviser to King Salman – indicated that the Saudi monarch was treating the issue as a priority. During this week, Turkish officials suggested that Khashoggi, who entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2 and was never seen again, was murdered by Saudi agents. Riyadh has dismissed the allegations as baseless.
