A senior Syrian scientist dies when his car blows up

Aziz Asbar was in charge of the scientific research center in the town of Masya. He was killed when his car exploded outside his home on Saturday night. The Syrian government has made no comment on the incident, but its security sources accused Israel, which has twice attacked the Masyaf center: in 2017, when an advanced missile plant was struck and in late July, targeting a weapons development facility nearby believed to hold laboratories for developing chemical weapons.  Asbar was reputedly a specialist in both fields.

Oh dear! So will that curtail his continuing research and development into nuclear, biological, chemical, missile technology, advanced conventional arms, and ballistic missiles?
