A tanker unloads Kurdish oil at Ashkelon

The tanker, the United Kalavryta, which is at the center of an Iraqi government lawsuit against the autonomous Kurdish Republic for exporting oil without Baghdad’s permission, carried more that one million barrels of Kurdish oil to the Israeli port of Ashkelon Friday. The tanker had previously tried to sell the crude in Texas and was turned down.
