A US F-16 jet crashes out of Andrews Base DC. Pilot ejects
A US Air Force National Guard F-16 crashed Wednesday over a wooded area near the Joint Andrews Base, from which the president takes off when he leaves Washington DC. The pilot ejected safely after directing the burning plane to a wood to avoid crashing into a populated area. He warned that the plane was carrying live ammunition. The cause of the crash will be investigated. The F-16 was part of a group of three that were apparently conducting a routine maneuver.
