A US military video shows Iranians removing limpet mine from tanker

The US military on Friday released a video showing an Iranian Revolutionary Guards patrol boat pulling alongside the Japanese-owned Kokuka Courageous and removing an unexploded limpet mine. This super tanker was set on fire by an explosion in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday, along with the Norwegian-owned MT Front Altair – both loaded with petroleum products. US Central Command spokesman Capt. Bill Urban accused Tehran of removing the evidence of its culpability for those attacks. Iran issued a denial, calling the allegation unfounded and part of America’s “Iranophobic campaign.”

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Thursday cited intelligence as confirming that Iran was responsible for this attack. He told a news conference in Washington that the sabotage was only the latest in “a series of recent violent acts by Iran,” which “present a clear threat to international peace and security.”

Attacking American Allies won’t help is war on another front. Be bold enough to attack US vessels or Israeli Command Post then wait and see how the consequences will play out like a movie

what sequences ? Americas move against Iran will destroy Israel ; How does anyone think they will fight an Army on the borders with ” friendly”Arabs and Israel ? 10 MILLION of them , from all the regions of the world .
Nukes ? Everyone will die in such exercise. USA should go home , and get lost outright . There are powers combine now that will wipe them off the map.

Numbers never win wars. Israel was able to prove it over and over again.

Very sad and pathetic commedy show. What will iran benefit from this. Only the dullest and most unsuspecting in the world can be hoodwinked. This is clearly the work of Americans and thier Allies. Inching to fight another country on behalf of another country is shameful for America. At some point however everybody will come to realise that playing with fire is not a resposible hobby.

Anonymous/ The Christian. Try better next time. You are not a real Christian or you would know your End Times prophecy which you clearly do not. Time for you to read the Bible for the first time.

The Iranians are seeming to become masters of asymetric warfare and downright lies (much like Putins Russia)occupying and attacking by stealth .Rather than a full scale invasion in the style of e,g, Saddam Hussein.

The simple answer is that no one can tell you. Those who know all (or at least most) of the answers will be legally prohibited from telling you.

What is clear, however, is that the situation is really quite complex.

      1. Oil sanctions are hurting Iran pretty significantly. Trump is hoping that this will be enough to change either the regime’s behavior – or the regime.
      2. Iran is being careful about the targets. Their hope is to increase risk and thus increase oil prices. Increased oil prices increases their revenue and may get Europe to pressure Trump on sanctions.
      3. Trump likely views his best chance at being re-elected is a good economy and no wars. Iran is hoping that their moves will hurt the stock market and trade and thus cause economic issues. They hope the USA will not start fighting back because a war is not good for them, either, so they are generally not attacking targets which are likely to result in a USA attack.
      4. It is likely the Iranian population is increasingly upset with the mullahs. Talk of war with the USA is likely hoped to coalesce support for the mullahs.

There is a whole lot more we could get into but it gets too long. Lots of regional, terrain, and other factors.
