A US naval carrier strike force is heading for Korea

A US Navy strike group led by the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier was making its way towards the Korean peninsula Sunday “to maintain readiness,” on orders given by President Donald Trump shortly after ending his talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping at his Florida residence. The strike group also includes two guided missile cruisers. The US naval presence was boosted in advance of the celebrations and  huge military parade scheduled for April 15 and 25 marking  the 105th birthday of its founding president, Kim Il Sung, and the 85th anniversary of the creation of the Korean People's Army.
