A US serviceman killed in Somalia, two injured
A US serviceman was killed in Somalia Thursday, the first confirmed US combat death since the 1993 Black Hawk Down incident in which 18 American troops lost their lives.. Two American soldiers were wounded in the same incident, which occurred when they were struck by small arms fire during a hunt for an al-Shabab commander near Bari, 64km west of Mogadishu. A US official said a US Navy Seal had been killed. The Trump administration has expanded US operations against Al Qaeda’s affiliate in the Horn of Africa.
