Abu Qatada deported from UK lands in Jordan for trial

Radical cleric Abu Qatada has has arrived in Jordan after being deported from the UK to stand trial on terrorism charges. His deportation was finally able to proceed after the UK and Jordan signed a treaty agreeing that evidence obtained through torture would not be used against him. Abu Qatada, whose real name is Omar Mahmour Mohammed Othman, is wanted in Jordan for retrial in several terror cases in which he was sentenced in absentia. He managed to delay his deportation for eight years by legal maneuvers in the UK.
