Active coronavirus cases drop by 68 to 3,335 

Monday saw a further drop in active coronavirus cases in Israel down to 3,335, with 57 serious cases, two less than on Sunday. Deaths rose by one to 272.
The scorching heat wave sent crowds onto the beaches although the Health Ministry refused to open them before Wednesday. The nature reserves were also packed in defiance of health guidelines, especially around the natural springs. Firefighters are battling a spate of wildfires across the country spread by high winds. The torrid weather is forecast to last for the rest of the week.
