Ahead of the Jewish New Year, IDF launches exercise in the North

As military tensions spiraled over the Syrian-Israeli border, Israeli forces on Tuesday began their third preparedness exercise in a month, in case Iran, Syria or Hizballah decides to launch an assault on the Jewish New Year festival which begins Sunday night. Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gady Eisenkot reviewed the exercise. The minister said: “We have a maneuverable, operational force capable of peak performance, which stands ready to conduct any mission.”
