Al Qaeda rebels behead Syrian Catholic priest

Vatican sources confirmed Tuesday that Father Francois Murad, 49, was murdered in his church in northern Syria by armed rebels belonging to the Syrian al Qaeda. The killers released a videotape showing armed men executing and beheading two individuals – one of them identified as the priest. According to Syrian sources the atrocity took place on June 23.
