American- Israeli Arieh Warshel shares Chemistry Nobel Prize
Prof. Arieh Warshel born at Kibbutz Sdeh Nahum was named Wednesday as one of the three winners of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry “for the development of multi-scale models for complex chemical systems.”
He shares the prize with the American-Australian Prof. Martin Karplus of Strasburg University and Harvard, and the American-British Prof. Michael Levitt, of Stanford.
A lecturer at the University of Southern California, Prof. Warshel attained his B.Sc at the Haifa School of Technology in 1966 and his Ph.D at the Weizmann Institute, Israel, in 1969.
