An elaborate White House welcome for Chinese President Xi Jinping
The grand welcome President Barack Obama afforded his guest, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Friday befitted the meeting of leaders of the world’s two largest economies. But their talks will reflect a wide range of controversies between the two powers. According to US officials, the two leaders reached broad agreement on climate change, another sore issue, in advance of their meeting, including a commitment by Xi to place an annual limit on greenhouse gas emissions.
