IDF tanks shell Hamas after Israeli soldier injured by explosive device from Gaza

An IDF patrol driving past northern Gaza was injured Sunday night by an explosive device hurled by Palestinian rioters near Beit Hanoun. He was flown by helicopter to the Soroka hospital in Beersheba. IDF tanks shelled two Hamas posts in N.Gaza. This was the second Israeli serviceman to sustain injury from Gaza violence in three days. On Friday, an IDF officer was injured by a Palestinian mob attacking military forces across the Gaza border.

Why not station as much heavy artillery as is available across from the Gaza border and turn it all loose on Gaza City and elsewhere once these border riots begin? Hamas must be made to understand that Gaza is not a “consequence free zone” providing unqualified immunity for acts of aggression. The IDF is not exacting a sufficient penalty for Hamas terrorism. The pace of reprisals needs to be stepped up considerably to impart a serious message!
