An Israeli soldier killed in friendly fire incident

Corp. Nathan Fitousi, 20, from Netanyahu, was accidentally killed by a comrade on Monday night in an incident near the Palestinian town of Tulkarm. Fitousi, an infantry soldier in the Kfir Brigade, told his comrades in the guard tower that he was going to pray and would come back soon. On his return, his comrade mistook him for a terrorist and shot him twice after going through the arrest procedure.

OC Central Command Maj. Gen. Yehuda Fuchs said, after the first stage of the investigation, that the incident was “grave and regrettable and should not have happened.”
