Angry voices raised at Kerry’s talks with Gulf rulers on Syria

DEBKAfile’s Gulf sources report that Secretary of State John Kerry faced angry words when he saw GCC rulers in Riyadh Saturday and strongly urged them to bring the Syrian rebel groups they support to the forthcoming international conference on Syria. Those groups have threatened to boycott the meeting, thereby causing its scheduled opening in Geneva Monday to be postponed. Washington is determined that the meeting for a political resoluiton of Syria’s future take place, despite this and numerous other obstacles.
