Ankara’s reconciliation pact with Israel submitted to parliament for approval
The reconciliation agreement reached by Turkey and Israel in June was submitted on Wednesday to the Turkish parliament for approval. The agreement stipulates that Israel will pay approximately $20 million in compensation to casualties of the IDF's 2010 raid on the Mavi Marmara, a Turkish ship that was trying to enter Gaza illegally. The deal also says that Turkey will cancel all of its lawsuits against IDF officers and enlisted men who participated in the takeover of the vessel.
