Another N. Korean nuclear test said to be imminent
A think tank that monitors North Korea said Thursday that the isolated country is about to conduct another test of a nuclear weapon. Satellite imagery showed that the North's nuclear testing site in Punggye-ri is "primed and ready", the US-based monitoring group 38 North said. Meanwhile, the North Korean government said in a statement issued during the day that "a big and important event" will occur. The US has dispatched an aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, and its strike group to waters off the Korean Peninsula. Some of the warships en route are armed with cruise missiles. Pyongyang has conducted five nuclear tests since 2006.
