Arab League split resolved by calling Hizballah terrorist without a vote
The Arab League conference in Cairo Friday, unable to obtain unanimous approval of the Saudi-led majority motion to list Hizballah a terrorist organization, decided not to put it to vote. After a brief walkout by the Saudi delegation in protest, the Bahrain diplomat Wahid Mubarak Sayar read out a statement at a news conference proclaiming the pro-Iranian Lebanese Hizballah a “terrorist” group, with Lebanon and Iraq expressing “reservations.”
