Argentinian cardinal is first Latin American pope

 

He is 76-year old Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Archbishop of Buenos Aires, a member of the Jesuit Order. He was elected Wednesday in an exceptionally short six rounds of voting at the conclave in the Sistine Chapel of the Vatican. It is reported he will be crowned as Pope Francis the First.
