Armenian PM warns of “attempted military coup”

PM Nikol Pashinyan accused the armed forces of attempting to stage a military coup by their demand for his resignation. After he sacked a top military commander, the generals said the prime minister was “no longer able to make reasonable decisions.” Yerevan has been in turmoil since the six-year war last year over Nagorno Karabakh, an enclave recognized as part of Azerbaijan and claimed by Armenia. Azerbaijan won the war and recaptured a key town formerly under Armenian rule.
