As Comey testifies, Trump vows to overcome ‘siege’ on White House

While delivering a keynote speech in Washington on Thursday, US President Donald Trump declared that he and his administration are "under siege…but we will come out bigger and better and stronger than ever." He added that "We will not back down from doing what is right…we know how to fight and we will never give up." The comments came as ex-FBI director James Comey testified at a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
When asked to comment on Comey's claim that the administration spread "lies, plain and simple" and "defamed" him and the bureau, White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said "I can definitely say the president's not a liar."
Later, Trump's lawyer said in a statement that Comey's testimony proves the president did not collude with Russia and "makes clear that the president never sought to impede the investigation" into the alleged interference. He also accused Comey of unauthorized disclosure of communications with the president.
