As Netanyahu visits Gaza front soldiers are pelted with rocks
Prime Minister Binyamin’s confident remarks during a visit to the Gaza front Tuesday were punctuated by a Palestinian mob attack on the soldiers at the Erez crossing point. Netanyahu said that although "we are in a battle for Israeli security on several fronts, I am under the pressure that the situation is under control. We won’t permit breaches of our borders or attacks on our territory and citizens.” As he spoke, Palestinians began pelting the Israeli position at the crossing from Gaza with rocks and firebombs. The soldiers fired back. The Palestinians reported three dead. After the prime minister’s departure, people living within range of the Gaza Strip were advised to keep one-kilometer’s distance and farmers warned that working in their fields they were at risk of snipers.
