Assad turned down offer to move to Tehran, Iranian minister says

Mahmoud Alavi, Iran's minister of intelligence, said Saturday that his country had offered Syrian President Bashar Assad the option of moving with his family from Damascus to Iran so he could lead his regime's war against the rebels from there. According to Alawi, Assad responded that "his family was like any other Syrian family" so it would remain in the capital.
