Assad’s office says Russian withdrawal was agreed

The Syrian Presidential Office announced Tuesday that President Bashar Assad and President Vladimir Putin had agreed to reduce the “Russian Air Force presence” in Syria. It went on to say that the two presidents had discussed the “withdrawal of Russian military forces” from the country starting Tuesday, March 15, and Moscow had promised “to continue to support Syria in its war on terror.”
