At least 24 dead, including 10 Taliban who stormed Karachi airport battle
Fighting resumed early Monday at the big Pakistani airport of Karachi after at least 24 people were killed, an estimated 14 of the security officials and 10 of the heavily armed terrorists, who stormed the airfield Sunday night with automatic fire and grenades. Pakistan’s Taliban later took responsibility for the attack, which focused on the VIP lounge and cargo facility. Parts of the airport are on fire. Some witnesses say they saw foreigners among the assailants. All incoming and outgoing flights remain suspended.
