At least 3 dead in tourist bus blast in Sinai near Taba
At least three people were killed in an explosion Sunday on a tourist bus in Egyptian Sinai near the Taba crossing to Israel. Two were South Korean tourists and the third was the Egyptian driver. Another 14 people were injured. DEBKAfile’s sources report that the bomb was detonated remotely. The bus came from St. Catherine’s Monastery in southern Sinai. The attack is attributed to the al Qaeda-linked Ansar Bayt Al-Maqdis which is active in the area. Israel prepared emergency medical teams and ambulances outside Taba in the event of an Egyptian request for assistance.
