At least 53 dead in big car bombing near Syrian Baath HQ and Russian embassy

The explosion went off Thursday in the central Damascus district of Mazraa where the ruling Syrian Baath Party headquarters and the Russian embassy are located. At least 31 people were killed and many ore injured. Witnesses saw many casualties and burning vehicles.
